Description: Research has found that three out of four people with Parkinson’s do not receive medications on time when staying in the hospital. When this occurs, two out of three will experience unnecessary complications. With more frequent hospital visits and a high sensitivity to the timing and dosing of PD medications, people with Parkinson’s face great risks in the hospital. After attending this session, long term care staff working with those affected by Parkinson's disease will understand the risks people face when going to the hospital and why getting the right medication on time, every time, is critical to managing disease symptoms.

  2. Discover tools to play an active role in Parkinsons residnt care
  3. Devise plans to prepare for scheduled and unscheduled hospital visits to ensure quality care while in the
    hospital
