Talking about Talent: Strategies for Senior Living Recruitment and Retention

Speakers:

  • Charles Rodriguez, Vice President of Human Capital Advisory, Adams Keegan

Description: Talent nurturing strategies are essential for senior living and elder care organizations to maintain their appeal and “branding” for residents and caregivers alike. At a time when many loved ones say they do not want to put their elders in care, and as prospective employees are avoiding an industry that has accrued a negative reputation in terms of environment and labor load, recruitment and retention is as much about dispelling myths as performing a deep dive into whether internal practices and ideas are fit for purpose. Talent strategies are rarely straightforward. There is no one size fits all method for translating it from theory to practice. Therefore, both a macro assessment (of broader trends and talent and recruitment), as well as micro strategies and advice, will be reviewed during this session.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Assess, develop and execute an end-to-end talent strategy to prepare your senior living facility to face a continued labor crunch that exists throughout the industry in the U.S.
  2. Analyze the meaning behind 2022 market trends generally, including how macro business trends translate for the individual employee
  3. Examine talent and recruitment throughout senior living, in the Southeast and throughout the country
